COORDINATOR, ATTENDANCE SUPPORT PROGRAM Location: OCDSB Administration Building; 133 Greenbank Road Nepean, ON Position Status: 12-Month Term Assignment Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week Affiliation: Union Exempt Salary range: $87,362 to $102,737 per annum (Level 6)
Job Summary Under the general direction of the Team Manager of Employee Wellness, the Coordinator is responsible for the administration of the Attendance Support Program for all OCDSB employees. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, identifying, monitoring and supporting employees in the program, providing advice and direction to managers and principals, leading attendance support meetings with employees and assisting in implementing goals to achieve regular attendance at work, coordinating ergonomic requests from staff, and supports the Team Manager in other Wellness initiatives.
Qualifications
Post-Secondary education in Human Resources, Administration, Health or a related field. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Human Resources, including experience working within a unionized setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), Human Resources Professional (HRP), or Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) designation is considered an asset.
Knowledge of Attendance Support, Disability Management and employee wellness programs and initiatives.
Familiarity with computerized absence tracking and reporting methods.
Proficiency in applicable software applications including Microsoft Suite and google applications. Experience with Parklane and Apply to Education is an asset.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to consult, convey complex information clearly, and build strong interpersonal relationships across diverse stakeholders including using sensitivity and empathy with affected stakeholders. Must be able to use tact, diplomacy and discretion in daily interactions.
Capacity for handling difficult conversations in a sometimes hostile environment.
Conflict resolution and problem solving skills.
Organizational skills, as well as time management techniques for planning, organizing and prioritizing work demands in order to meet deadlines.
Analytical skills for data analysis of absence reports.
High degree of discretion required.
Initiative and judgment skills required for taking appropriate action to resolve problems and conflicts.
