The Exercise Specialist works within an interdisciplinary team to provide exercise assessment and rehabilitation for patients with chronic conditions. You will conduct exercise tolerance testing, deliver client education in various settings, and ensure patient safety during exercise sessions. This regular part-time role at Melcor Centre involves both individual and group programming, emphasizing a patient-and-family-centered approach to care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop medically supervised exercise programs for patients • Conduct exercise tolerance testing and evaluation • Deliver patient education in individual and group formats • Facilitate protected, monitored exercise sessions • Integrate client feedback for program improvements
Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or related field • Active membership with relevant exercise physiology organizations • 2-3 years of experience in exercise program design • Advanced critical thinking and assessment skills • Driver's license and vehicle required
