Python Developer – Copilot & AI Agents, Digital Applications

Location: Toronto, ON

Position Type: Contract

Work Model: Hybrid- 1 day in office

We are looking for an experienced Python Developer with hands-on experience in Microsoft Copilot and AI Agents to join our Digital Applications team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and integrating AI-powered applications and services, with a focus on Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Agents, Python, APIs, and enterprise application integration .

The ideal candidate has strong Python development skills and experience building or integrating AI solutions in an enterprise environment. Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure, APIs, and banking or financial services is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and integrate AI-powered applications and services using Python .
- Build, configure, and enhance Microsoft Copilot Agents to support business and application use cases.
- Work with Microsoft Copilot Studio to design conversational experiences, topics, actions, connectors, and agent workflows.
- Develop Python-based backend services and APIs to support Copilot Agents and digital applications.
- Integrate Copilot Agents with enterprise applications, APIs, databases, and other data sources.
- Work with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand requirements and translate them into AI-enabled solutions.
- Design and implement secure and scalable AI application integrations.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs and work with JSON-based data.
- Apply appropriate authentication, authorization, and security controls to AI and application integrations.
- Test, debug, and troubleshoot AI agents, Python services, APIs, and application integrations.




- Participate in code reviews and follow enterprise development and security standards.
- Collaborate with Architects, Business Analysts, Developers, QA, DevOps, and other technology teams.
- Support deployment and maintenance of AI-enabled applications in cloud environments.
- Document solution designs, agent configurations, APIs, and technical implementation details.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Experience

- 5+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
- Experience working with Microsoft Copilot and/or Copilot Studio .
- Experience building, configuring, or integrating Copilot Agents / AI Agents .
- Strong experience developing and consuming REST APIs .
- Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise applications and data sources.
- Strong understanding of Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django .
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
- Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
- Experience with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure .
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, API security, and secure coding practices.
- Experience with unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving,



and communication skills.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
