Support Indigenous communities as a Family Service Worker, providing vital assistance to children and families in Rama First Nation and Barrie, Ontario. This role emphasizes assessment, intervention, and culturally competent practices.
As a Family Service Worker, you'll directly engage with children and families facing challenges within the child welfare system, focusing on building resilience and empowerment. You will undertake comprehensive assessments, develop family-centered service plans, and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective intervention strategies are implemented. Utilizing your knowledge of trauma-informed practices is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct assessments and interventions with cultural respect • Develop service plans to enhance child safety • Coordinate and monitor community services • Facilitate family conferences and engage in consultations • Prepare legal documentation and represent in court
Requirements: • Bachelor of Social Work Degree or equivalent • At least 3 years of experience with child welfare • Knowledge of Indigenous issues and trauma-informed care • Crisis intervention and advocacy skills • Must possess a valid driver’s license and insurance
