About Myo Palate Myo Palate is a stem cell manufacturing company developing next generation cell based products, including cultivated meat (real animal protein produced directly from cells, without raising or harvesting animals) and the foundational platform for cell therapy manufacturing.

We're a team of scientists and engineers pushing the frontiers of stem cell manufacturing.

About the Position You will design, prototype, and fabricate custom bioprocessing components on tight iteration cycles. The core of the job is a fast design-build-test loop: take a process requirement from the biology team, model it, produce it on a CNC mill or resin/FDM printer, test it on the bench, and revise, on a cadence of days rather than weeks. We want someone who reaches for whatever makes that loop faster, including parametric CAD, scripting, and LLM-assisted workflows. You will translate biology requirements into functional hardware that integrates with our stem cell production systems, and make practical material and part choices along the way.

You will also work with CFD, electrical, and bioprocess engineers to iterate and improve prototypes and hardware. We are looking for strong,



independent project ownership paired with the ability to interface quickly across other engineering and biology disciplines.

About You

Hands-on and build-oriented, comfortable owning designs from concept through fabrication, testing, and revision

Fast: you close design-build-test loops quickly and manage iteration count and turnaround deliberately

Resourceful with tooling: you use parametric CAD, scripting, and LLMs to remove friction from your workflow

Detail-oriented, with strong spatial reasoning and a practical approach to design for manufacturability

Self-directed and cross-functional, quick to pick up new tools and techniques as projects demand

Qualifications Required

Bachelor's or Master's in mechanical, manufacturing, or mechatronic engineering, or a related discipline

SOLIDWORKS proficiency, including parametric, configuration-driven modeling built for rapid iteration, with a track record of taking designs from model to physical part

Rapid prototyping across benchtop CNC milling (toolpath generation, fixturing, metals and plastics) and both resin (SLA/DLP/MSLA) and extrusion (FDM) 3D printing, including post-processing (wash and cure) to hit dimensional targets

Sound material and part selection for mechanical, manufacturability, and compatibility requirements

Working knowledge of geometric and dimensional tolerancing

Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for data analysis and automation

Ability to use LLMs and modern automation to speed up engineering workflows, including design iteration, scripting, documentation, and spec or literature lookup

Strong documentation and communication skills

Nice to Have

Experience selecting materials for sterilization and biocompatibility constraints: autoclavable (121-134°C steam), non-cytotoxic and biocompatible (ISO 10993),



and chemically compatible with culture media and cleaning agents, with an understanding of the tradeoffs across steam, chemical, gamma, and EtO sterilization

Microcontroller-based systems and electronics fundamentals: instrumentation, motor control, and hands-on prototyping and testing of small electronic assemblies

Familiarity with bioprocess equipment such as bioreactors, pumps, or fluid handling systems, and with sanitary fittings (tri-clamp, luer, barbed)

Cell culture technique and aseptic practice, or exposure to sterile manufacturing or cleanroom environments

Design and model bioprocessing components and assemblies in SOLIDWORKS for fabrication, using parametric models that make iteration quick

Operate and maintain benchtop CNC mills and resin/FDM printers to produce parts, including post-processing to hit dimensional and, where required, biocompatibility targets

Drive rapid design-build-test loops from process requirement to prototype to bench test to revision, on a cadence of days rather than weeks

Use LLMs and automation to accelerate design iteration, scripting, and documentation

Select materials and parts that meet mechanical, sterilization, and biocompatibility requirements, and validate compatibility (for example, autoclave cycling) before parts contact cells or media

Interpret CFD models to evaluate flow, mixing, shear, and heat transfer, and iterate designs on the results, experimental data, and biology feedback

Perform mechanical assembly, fit checks, and integration of fabricated parts with existing bioprocess systems, including sanitary fittings and seals

Create and maintain engineering documentation, including part drawings, BOMs, assembly instructions, and SOPs

Collaborate with biologists and process engineers to translate cell culture requirements into hardware specifications

Support equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance as needed
