OverviewGroup Leader in Production – full‑time salaried position located at General Motors St. Catharines Propulsion facility. This role is responsible for leading teams of employees or technical personnel to drive operational excellence across manufacturing processes, managing daily operations, developing and improving business processes, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration, and overseeing production activities, quality assurance, inspection, problem‑solving, and GM Built‑in‑Quality initiatives.ResponsibilitiesLead and motivate production teams to achieve safety, quality, responsiveness, cost, and environmental objectives (SPQRCE).Monitor and adjust the manufacturing daily plan to meet production targets.Manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities.Navigate change and ambiguity while maintaining accountability through people and processes.Conduct difficult conversations when necessary to sustain performance.Coordinate cross‑functional efforts with Engineering and Manufacturing Teams.Implement and maintain GM Built‑in‑Quality initiatives and other continuous improvement projects.Ensure compliance with GMS and BPD processes.Required SkillsStrong critical thinking and analytical ability for complex problems.Proven project management and communication skills.Experience managing change and navigating ambiguity.Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).Willingness to work weekends, overtime,



and off‑shift hours.Ability to work cross‑functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing Teams.Knowledge of GMS and BPD processes.Minimum university degree or college diploma (engineering preferred).Preferred SkillsKnowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP) and Throughput Improvement Process (TIP).Advanced understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes, strong mechanical aptitude.Experience supervising employees in a union environment.Experience implementing Built‑in‑Quality Initiatives and Lean Manufacturing.Knowledge of time‑keeping systems.Minimum of 1 year of related maintenance experience (preferred).Compensation & BenefitsSalary range: $76,100.00 to $114,300.00, dependent on experience and qualifications.Paid time off including vacation days, holidays, and supplemental perks for pregnancy, parental and adoption leave.Health, dental and vision benefits, including health care spending account and wellness incentive.Life insurance plans for employee and family.Company and matching contributions to a Defined Contribution Pension plan.GM Vehicle Purchase Plan for employee, family and friends.Relocation: This role is not eligible for relocation benefits; any relocation costs are the applicant’s responsibility.EEO StatementGeneral Motors is committed to being a workplace that is not only free of unlawful discrimination but also genuinely fosters inclusion and belonging, allowing all employees to thrive and develop better products for our customers.#J-18808-Ljbffr
