West Coast LEAF(WCL)is a feminist legal advocacy organization based in Vancouver, BC, on the homelands of thexʷməθkʷəy̓əm(Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish)andsəlílwətaʔɬ(Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Through litigation, law reform and public legal education, we work toward gender justice in collaboration with people and communities most affected by overlapping systems of oppression. WCLis seeking a Manager of CommunityEngagementtodevelop and stewardcommunity relationships, coalitionpartnershipsand organizational accountability. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager will support reciprocal engagement with communities, movements,coalitionsand partners connected to WCL’s work.The Manager will combinerelationship-building, project leadership andpractical follow-through and help ensure that community knowledgeand lived experienceinform WCL’s advocacy, public legal education, organizationallearningand strategic direction. The positionprovidesleadership for key engagement initiatives,notablythe Family Well-being Coalition,supportsrelationships with communities and coalition partners, collaborateson cross-organizational projects,supportsthe Indigenous AdvisoryCircleandstrengthenscommunity-engagement practicesacross WCL.Therole is alsoresponsible forprojectplanningand managementofkey grants. We are looking for someone with strengths inrelationship-building, facilitation and projectmanagementwho enjoys working collaboratively and building trust across diverse communities and partners.This3-yearposition is funded by multiple grantsand is part of the Union, with occasional travel andmeetings outside ofregular businesshours. Key Responsibilities

The Manager will:



Provide leadership and coordination for the Family Well-being Coalition, including planning, facilitation, partnercommunicationand follow-through. Build and steward respectful,reciprocaland accountable relationships with priority communities,coalitionsand partners. Work with staff to design accessible and meaningful engagement processes, including explicit purposes, consent,appropriate compensationand feedback loops. Bring community perspectives, emerging issues and lessons learned into organizational planning, advocacy, public legaleducationand decision-making. Help staffbuild and sustaincommunity relationships whilestrengtheningcontinuity of knowledge,commitmentsand organizational learning. Manage and support key projects, grants,budgetsand reporting requirements associated with assigned initiatives. Supportcoordination,respectful communication,documentationand accountability processes with the Indigenous Advisory Circle. Support community resource pathways within WCL’s mandate and the boundaries of the role. About You

You bring: Progressiveexperiencein community engagement,



organizing, partnerships,advocacyor a related field. Experience building trust-based relationships with communities, movements,coalitionsor community-serving organizations. Understanding of, connection to, orlivedand livingexperienceof systems of oppressionand their impacts on individuals and communities. Experiencefacilitatingcoalitions, advisory bodies, workinggroupsor community conversations. Demonstrated ability to manageprojectsand grants, including planning,implementation,documentation,budget,evaluation, reporting,timelinesand stakeholder coordination. Understanding of family policing, childwelfareor related systems in British Columbia. Ability to communicate clearly, synthesize diverseperspectivesand support follow-through oncommitments. Ability to navigate complexity, competing priorities and conflict with humility and sound judgment. Experience working collaboratively across teams or organizations with shared accountability. Demonstrated commitment toWCL’svalues, which include decolonial, trans-inclusive, and intersectional feminism, andan understanding oftheongoing impacts of colonial systems and Indigenous-specific discrimination in British Columbia. The following would strengthen an application: Experience working with Indigenous communities and supporting decolonizing practices. Community-based research,evaluationor ethical knowledge-mobilization experience. Experience with coalition governance, grassroots organizing or movement-building. Experience managing grants, honoraria,contractorsand funder reporting. Knowledge of BC community resources and referral pathways. Experience supporting advisory bodies.
