Not a 9 to 5? Neither are we. East Edmonton Urgent Care is growing and hiring Health Care Aides who prefer evenings, nights, weekends, and work that makes a real difference. Currently, patient intake hours are Monday to Friday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. While intake ends at those times, care often continues beyond intake hours, and shifts extend as late as 2:00 AM to ensure patients already in the clinic receive safe, complete, and uninterrupted care. This is an urgent care environment, intended for non-emergent conditions; however, patient status can change quickly. Reporting to the Manager of the East Edmonton Urgent Care Centre, Health Care Aides support the Urgent Care team by assisting with daily living activities, mobility, hygiene, and monitoring. You will work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and multidisciplinary staff to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.
Description: As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team, providing personal assistance by supporting activities of daily living and delivering support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers across the continuum of care in home, community, and health care facilities. You will assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs; assist with organized activities or programs; and observe and report on patients' mood, health, and wellbeing.
Working under the supervision of a regulated health professional, you will assist in maintaining a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors, while supporting effective communication with patients and health care professionals.PLEASE NOTE: Until a new hire provides proof of HCA certification, they will be paid at the uncertified pay grade in accordance with the AUPE AUX Collective Agreement.
