Top Core Skills 10+ years of experience in Unified Communications overall, including IT infrastructure, networking, and Microsoft 365. 10+ years of technology/solution design and configuration, capacity management,
hardware fault diagnosis, and service design. Expertise in Voice Over IP and VOIP products (MS Teams, Webex, Zoom). Understanding of SIP (session initiation protocol). Experience with Direct Routing (integrating SIP trunks from service providers such as Bell/Rogers). Experience with Meeting Room Technologies (deploying MS Teams Rooms, Cisco Webex endpoints). 5+ years in people‑leadership roles. Core Job Responsibilities Develop and implement IT infrastructure & platform strategies for BMO, aligning technical solutions with business needs and organizational growth. Own the Unified Communications portfolio, including legacy voice, cloud telephony, and meeting room technology. Perform capacity and workload modeling and availability analysis for platforms. Recommend infrastructure solutions and work with stakeholders to meet engineering requirements. Craft a holistic roadmap for all communication technologies (headsets, room equipment, laptops, Teams). Manage and grow a high‑performance engineering team, coaching employees, recognizing performance, and addressing poor performance. Provide strategic input to business decisions and act as a trusted advisor. Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to influence design and improve the customer experience. Ensure infrastructure solutions are scalable, flexible, and maintainable, automating where possible. Oversee disasters recovery procedures, troubleshoot network and connectivity issues, and manage system uptime. Support on‑call or shift duty as required.
