Granville Island Treasures is a small family-owned and operated business in Vancouver, BC. We specialize in women's clothing, handicrafts, and accessories. We have been in business since 1992 and pride ourselves on creating an inclusive, social, and fun environment for our customers to shop in. Working for us means you will become a part of our little family team and we will strive to make sure you enjoy working and collaborating with us.
We are looking for an energetic, friendly, and responsible person to work 3-4 days/week. Availability would be ideally on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. We can offer 18-24 hours per week -but this is an ongoing part-time only position.
We offer a relaxed work setting. There are no sales goals, we do not want staff or customers to feel pressure when shopping in our space. However, this is a social atmosphere so candidates should feel comfortable engaging with other people.
Responsibilities will include:
- Greeting and assisting customers (providing outstanding customer service is a must)
- Acquiring knowledge of products and materials on an ongoing basis
- Assisting with merchandising and displays
- Ensuring the shop is kept clean and well-organized
- Cash handling (at a later stage)
Previous retail experience is preferred but not necessary. Strong English speaking skills in addition to speaking either French or Spanish are a huge asset. We do maintain a dress code for all staff. You must also be passionate about style and willing to learn about women's clothing and fashion. A keen interest in women's fashion, artwork, and design is a bonus!
Unfortunately, parking is not available on-site. Candidates should be prepared to take public transit.
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18.0 – 24.0 per week
