General Labourer – Scrap Metal Yard

We are looking for a dependable, motivated General Labourer to join our scrap metal yard team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, working with equipment, and seeing the results of their work at the end of the day.

You don't need to know everything about scrap metal when you start. We're willing to train the right person who shows up, works safely, takes pride in their work, and wants to learn.

What You'll Be Doing

- Sort, organize, and process different types of scrap metal.
- Help load and unload scrap metal and materials.
- Clean and prepare metal for processing.
- Use hand tools and power tools as required.
- Assist with cutting and processing metal using equipment such as plasma cutters and grinders after proper training.
- Keep the yard, work areas, and equipment clean and organized.
- Help identify and separate different types of metals.
- Assist equipment operators and other team members as needed.
- Follow safe work practices and use required PPE.
- Perform general yard and labour duties to keep operations running smoothly.
- Take on additional responsibilities as you gain experience and skills.

Previous experience in a scrap yard, construction, welding, fabrication, farming, mechanics, or another hands-on trade is an asset — but it's not required. We can train the right person.

What You'll Need

- Ability to safely perform physical labour.
- Ability to lift and move materials using proper techniques and equipment.
- Willingness to work around metal, dust, noise, sparks, and changing weather conditions.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Valid driver's licence

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
