Overview
Join our vibrant team as a Seasonal Ice Fishing Attendant and become a key part of creating memorable winter experiences for guests! This lively role combines outdoor adventure with exceptional customer service, offering an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, seasonal environment. As an Ice Fishing Attendant, you will assist visitors in preparing for their fishing excursions, ensure safety protocols are followed, and provide friendly guidance throughout their visit.
This paid position is perfect for energetic individuals who enjoy working outdoors and engaging with people of all ages.
Responsibilities
- Safley transport customers and applies to and from fishing huts using marina vehical, snowmobiles or ATV.
- set up, inspect, maintain and clean fishing huts before and after each rental.
- monitor ice conditions, weather conditions and maked travel routes through each shift.
- confirm that huts are properly positioned and equipped with required saftey supplies.
- reguarly check on guests and respond promptly to requests and emergencies.
- Maintain communication at all time with Marina office, and other team members.
- Assist customers with Rod rentals, bait, and basic ice fishing areas, clean and organize.
- clear snow in the parking area and surrounding marina property.
- Enforce marina safety policy, including occupancy limits and the prohibition of cooking or open flames in huts.
Requirements
- must be dependable, punctual and comfortable working independently.
- must be available early mornings, weekends and holidays throughout the ice-fishing season.
- able to work outdoors for extended periods in extreme cold, wind , snow and changing weather conditions.
- physically capable of lifting approx. 50 pounds and assisting in equipment's, snow plow and hut maintance.
- able to remain calm and make responsible decisions during emergencies.
- pervious experience operating a snowmobile, ATV or similar equipment is preferred.
- knowledge of lake simcoe, ice fishing and ice-saftey practises is considered an asset.
- Valid driver license with Satisfactory Driving record is preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
