MacKay LLP is excited to grow our team and is currently searching for a Senior Accountant – Public Company Assurance Group (Pubco) opportunity in Vancouver. Our firm is redefining what it means to work in the accounting industry. You will help to deliver innovative solutions to today’s complex business issues. Preparation and review of audit, review and tax engagements. Verify taxes owed and prepare corporate tax returns (and other tax compliance slips) ensuring compliance with government standards.

Apply knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE) is an asset. Familiarity with Canadian Auditing Standards and public company audits. Summarize financial status through the collection of information and preparation of balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other relevant reports.

Review documents from third-party sources for audit process. Vouch and assess relevance of audit evidence for expenses, revenues, capital asset additions,



accounts payable and other liabilities, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, inventory, equity accounts, and income taxes. In conjunction with and under the supervision of managers and partners, responsible for completion of all aspects of an engagement.

Collaborate with client team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas, materiality, and deadlines. Mentorship of junior team members, whether as part of a specific engagement team or as a resource within the office. Build effective working relationships with clients and actively participate in business development through community involvement.

Professional CPA designation ~2-4 years of relevant public accounting experience ~2+ years public company experience ~ Interest in working with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
