Your Opportunity:

As a key contributor to advancing Recovery Alberta’s strategic goals and strategies, the Senior Consultant provides advanced project management, change management, quality improvement, and leadership expertise. This position holds a high degree of independence to lead, facilitate, develop, and implement project initiatives for Psychiatry and Mental Healthcare – Inpatient by applying project management and business methodologies. The position is accountable for providing senior project management and consulting expertise and is responsible for developing project plans for complex, multiple year, multiple site projects that require collaboration with Provincial partners, internal and external stakeholders. The Senior Consultant works directly with project teams within a matrix resourcing environment and supervise staff or lead functional teams, working groups or projects. This position coordinates initiatives with multiple stakeholders including, but not limited to, government, community agencies, municipalities, patient and family representatives and partners.

Description:

The Senior Consultant is responsible for and provides leadership to project management activities across all stages of a project, often including pre-project activities and spanning project initiation, planning and execution, implementation, evaluation and closure. The Senior Consultant applies project management methodology and expertise, effectively facilitates diverse groups addressing complex issues, and skillfully engages stakeholders to develop effective and efficient solutions and health services. The Senior Consultant must possess the skills to use data and information to effectively advance quality and innovation. This position requires specialized and advanced expertise, knowledge and skill, along with considerable experience within healthcare environments.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree, or equivalent of training and experience, in a health-related field. Relevant project management specific education, training, or certification in project management from an accredited institution. The incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Specialized expertise in planning methodologies, including quality improvement, project management and change management.

Coordination experience in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. Significant experience in problem solving, risk mitigation, concerns resolution, conflict resolution and negotiation. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with leading a team, making decisions, coaching and teaching, and inspiring and building confidence in others.

Demonstrated ability to engage and foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influencing skills, interpersonal skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Certification/education in: Project management. Change management. Quality improvement. Business or Healthcare Administration. Professional designation in Project Management (e.g. Project Management Professional designation). Prosci certified. AIW, Lean or Six Sigma certified. Health skilled designation and registration with the appropriate college if applicable.
