This is a fantastic opportunity to work as an HR Business Partner for an industrial company near Fort Sasketchewan. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years' experience. You will handle daily HR responsibilities for the site. This role requires a dedicated, hands on person with robust experience in all functions of human resources, including employee relations, and who has worked in a generalist role, partnering with managers effectively, in an industrial company for more than 8 years. Being flexible with the ability to multi-task and take on project work is crucial to be successful in this role.
You will drive assigned HR projects, provide support for daily HR related work and be responsible for the HR system. The successful candidate will implement organizational changes, partner effectively with managers, handle retention and recruiting, employee benefits, and working cross functionally to roll out projects which are critical in delivering an exceptional employee experience.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Possess thorough HR knowledge of applicable employment laws, HR policies, operating procedures and best practices.
- Resolve employee relations issues at various levels, when needed.
- Promote and drive employee retention initiatives.
- Manage employee handbook. Provide managers and employees with accurate information at all times.
- Organize, drive and implement assigned projects, track progress and provide status reporting and ongoing communications.
- Responsible for training and identifying courses for each position.
- In conjunction with the HRIS team, work toward completing the implementation of the HRIS system and learn business processes that are needed to help with a successful implementation process across the company. This involves employee data and employee reporting.
- Track and analyze trends and update progress in the system. Proactively utilize results to improve retention and enhance employee development.
- Manage annual programs and events for team building.
- Be able to assist with hiring and recruitment.
- Revise the New Hire Orientation program.
- Work independently without supervision.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
Education and Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, with a SHRM certification desired.
- 8 years experience in human resources supporting managers and employees in an industrial organization.
- Robust knowledge of HR processes, policies and employment laws.
- Effective communication skills
- Flexibility, multi-tasking, excellent judgment, attention to detail and follow through are required.
- Demonstrated HR experience influencing change to improve business outcome is desired.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in HRIS, MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook
- Excellent level demonstrated experience with an HRIS or an ERP system
- Attention to detail with high quality deliverables.
- Ability to work with a team with tact and diplomacy.
- Maintain strong confidentiality.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Travel on occasion, if needed.
