Senior Full Stack Developer, R&D;
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer who can bridge exploratory research and production-grade delivery. The ideal candidate is a full stack developer, with strong product instincts and who can take an idea from prototype to shipped feature without losing rigor or velocity. We are looking for someone who thrives in ambiguous problem spaces, writes code that others are proud to maintain, and brings a genuine curiosity about applied AI to everything built.
What You Can Expect
- Design, develop, and ship full stack features across our Node.js/TypeScript backend and React frontend, from initial scoping through deployment and monitoring.
- Translate R&D; prototypes and research findings into production-ready, maintainable code that meets Estateably’s quality and reliability standards.
- Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies: planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, to stay aligned with product and engineering teams.
- Build and integrate AI-powered capabilities (e.g. document processing, intelligent automation, multi-agent workflows) using modern LLM tooling and patterns.
- Investigate and resolve production issues promptly, applying well-tested, robust solutions that protect customer trust and service continuity.
- Partner closely with QA, product, and design to deliver a cohesive, high-quality user experience, including thoughtful use of our design system.
- Contribute architectural thinking on new features, evaluating trade-offs across scalability, maintainability, performance, and long-term system health.
- Support the growth of peers through code review, technical mentorship, and knowledge sharing across the team.
Required Experience
- 5 years of full stack engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production systems.
- Proven ability to work across the stack: API design, data modeling, frontend components; without losing sight of the end user.
- Experience collaborating on cross-functional teams alongside product, design, and QA in an agile workplace.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical decisions to both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
- Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal) to effectively collaborate with team members across Canada and the United States.
Technical Knowledge Required
Core Stack (required)
- Languages & Runtimes: TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js
- Backend Frameworks: Express, NestJS
- Frontend: React, component-driven development, design system usage and contribution
- Databases: MongoDB (primary), familiarity with Redis or other caching layers
- API Design: RESTful APIs, OpenAPI/JSON, async patterns (async/await, Promises, job queues)
- Testing: Unit, integration, and end-to-end testing (Jest, Playwright, Cypress)
- Deployment & Infrastructure: Docker, CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments
- AI-assisted Development: Comfortable using AI coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.) as part of a productive engineering workflow
Desired (strong Asset)
- Applied AI: Experience with RAG (retrieval-augmented generation), LLM orchestration, or multi-agent system design
- Python: Ability to read, write,
and integrate Python-based AI or data tooling
- Cloud Platforms: AWS and/or GCP — infrastructure familiarity, managed services, deployment patterns
- Build Tooling: npm/yarn/pnpm, Webpack, Vite
- Design Patterns: Component abstractions and isolation, i18n
