- Design, develop and enhance scalable backend applications and services using Java and Spring-based technologies
- Build and maintain APIs and microservices supporting high-volume, business-critical applications
- Work across solution design, development, testing, code review and production support
- Collaborate with developers, Business Systems Analysts, Technical Leads and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Apply object-oriented design principles, engineering practices and design patterns
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and services within complex enterprise environments
- Work with relational databases and data persistence technologies
- Participate in code reviews, automated testing, debugging and performance optimization
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices, development processes and delivery effectiveness
- Use modern development tools and explore AI-assisted engineering techniques
- Communicate with client and internal teams in a collaborative delivery workplace Requirements - 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on experience developing backend applications in Java
- Strong experience with Spring and Spring Boot
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles and common design patterns
- Experience working with relational databases, SQL and core database concepts
- Experience with Git-based source control and modern software development practices
- Experience writing and maintaining automated tests and participating in code reviews
- Strong debugging, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience working within Agile software delivery teams
- Strong communication and collaboration skills,

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Previous experience within banking, payments or financial services
- Experience building or supporting high-volume, transaction-oriented systems
- Experience with cloud-native application development and modern enterprise architectures
- Experience with messaging, event-driven architectures or distributed systems
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code or similar
- Interest in applying AI across requirements analysis, solution design, coding, testing, debugging and code review
