Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Work Setting: Hybrid / Remote after onboarding

Engagement: Full-Time Consultant

Contract: November 2, 2026 – November 1, 2027

Extensions: Two additional 1-year extensions

Maximum Potential Term: November 1, 2029

Client is seeking one Senior Service & UX Designer to support its multi-year digital modernization initiatives, including the evolution of Microsoft Dynamics 365-based CRM and other enterprise digital platforms. The resource will lead human-centred design, UX/UI, service design, research, accessibility, and digital service improvement activities.

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is a senior-level UX/UI and Service Designer with 10+ years of progressive experience working in complex enterprise environments and at least 5 years supporting digital transformation initiatives within government, public-sector, Crown corporation, or comparable environments.

The candidate should be highly experienced in Human-Centred Design, user research, service design, enterprise UX/UI, design systems, accessibility, Agile delivery, stakeholder facilitation, and digital product/service modernization.

The Senior Service & UX Designer will lead end-to-end design activities across ASHC's digital services portfolio. The role will translate user needs, business requirements, policy considerations, and technical constraints into intuitive, accessible, scalable digital experiences.

The consultant will work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, QA teams, and government stakeholders to deliver user-centered solutions across enterprise platforms, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Human-Centred Design & Research

- Lead discovery and service-design activities.

- Conduct user interviews, stakeholder interviews, surveys, usability testing, and other research.

- Apply Human-Centred Design and Design Thinking methodologies.

- Identify user needs, pain points, opportunities, and service improvements.

- Develop current-state and future-state service models.

- Create personas, journey maps, and service blueprints.

UX/UI & Product Design

- Develop information architecture and user flows.

- Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.

- Design responsive and mobile-first digital experiences.

- Design complex enterprise digital platforms and workflows.

- Ensure solutions are intuitive, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

- Prepare production-ready design specifications.

Design Systems & Accessibility

- Develop and maintain enterprise design systems.

- Create and manage component libraries, design tokens, and interaction standards.

- Apply accessibility requirements throughout the design lifecycle.

- Ensure designs meet WCAG 2.2 AA or equivalent standards.

- Conduct accessibility and design-quality reviews.

Agile Delivery & Collaboration

- Work within Agile delivery teams.

- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

- Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, and QA teams.

- Support developer handoff and implementation.

- Perform design QA and validate implemented solutions.

- Balance user needs, technical constraints, accessibility, and business priorities.





Stakeholder & Workshop Facilitation

- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and design-thinking sessions.

- Lead collaborative discovery activities.

- Conduct design reviews and executive-level presentations.

- Translate research and design findings into actionable recommendations.

- Build consensus across business and technical stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

- Measure user outcomes and service effectiveness.

- Identify opportunities for improving digital services.

- Use user feedback and research insights to drive iterative improvements.

- Support ongoing modernization of ASHC's digital service portfolio.

Required Qualifications

- 10+ years of progressive UX, UI, and Service Design experience in complex enterprise environments.

- 5+ years supporting digital transformation initiatives within government, public sector, Crown corporations, or comparable environments.

Post-secondary diploma or degree in:

- Interaction Design

- Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)

- Product Design

- UX Design

- Industrial Design

- Graphic Design

- Computer Science

- Related discipline

Demonstrated end-to-end Human-Centred Design experience.

Strong user research and usability-testing experience.

Experience with personas, journey maps, service blueprints, information architecture, user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.

Experience designing responsive web applications and enterprise digital platforms.

Experience with enterprise design systems, component libraries, design tokens, and interaction standards.

Experience applying WCAG 2.2 AA or equivalent accessibility standards.

Experience working within Agile delivery teams.

Experience collaborating with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, and QA.

Strong stakeholder workshop and facilitation experience.

Experience preparing production-ready design specifications and supporting developer handoff.

Experience performing design QA and validating implemented solutions.

Experience with Figma, Miro, FigJam, Jira and/or Confluence.

Work Arrangement

Edmonton, Alberta is the ASHC location.

Initial onboarding and key stakeholder meetings may require in-person attendance.

After onboarding, the role may be hybrid or fully remote.

Candidate must reside in Canada and perform all work within Canada.
