Matrix HR is seeking a dedicated Service Technician to join our specialized marine safety team in Montreal. The primary role of the Service Technician is to provide efficient and high-quality maintenance and repair services for lifesaving marine appliances. You will ensure that all equipment is serviced according to manufacturer specifications and best practices, directly contributing to the safety of our clients at sea.

Major Responsibilities
- Repair and Maintenance: Inspect, service, and repair lifesaving marine equipment daily according to manufacturer standards.
- Recertification: Accurately update equipment checklists and ensure all printouts for certification or recertification are completed with extreme attention to detail.
- Inventory Control: Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment, tools, and spare parts. Request new stock in a timely manner to ensure operational readiness.
- Safety and Reporting: Identify and report any safety concerns immediately. Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Customer Service: Provide professional and friendly service to local customers, ensuring their technical needs are met efficiently.
- Logistics Support: Assist with shipping and receiving duties and travel to other branches provincially as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bilingualism:
Proficiency in both English and French is required to effectively support our Montreal client base.
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in general labour or a mechanical field is preferred.
- Technical Aptitude: Experience with mechanical tools such as compressors and pressure gauges is a strong asset.
- Reliability: A proven track record of dependability. We need a team member who shows up ready to perform in all weather conditions.
- License: A valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.
- Education: A trades diploma or Marine Service Technician designation is considered an asset.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, a positive attitude, and a genuine willingness to learn specialized manufacturer specifications.
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
- Must be comfortable with physical tasks including kneeling, crouching, climbing, and repetitive movements.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment and adapt to various conditions such as heat, cold, and noise.
- Requires intense visual concentration for detailed equipment inspections.
