Overview:

As an Ophthalmic Assistant and Administrative Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality eye care for our patients. You will work closely with ophthalmologists and other technicians to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care promptly. This position requires strong communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team or in a self-directed environment. If you are passionate about helping others and/or have a background in medical office or customer service, we encourage you to apply! On-going training is provided on site. Parking is available on site. Additionally, we offer an employer sponsored tuition agreement for eligible candidates pursuing certifications.

Wage is dependent on experience

If you have OSC, COA, COT or COMT or ROUB the wage is higher than listed

Responsibilities:
Assist with administrative duties such communicating with medical offices and patients by fax, phone or email and booking/re-scheduling patient appointments
Interact with patients in an empathetic and professional manner, ensuring privacy and confidentiality is upheld
Prepare patients for various procedures and diagnostic testing such as tonometry,



visual field testing, OCT scans, Fundus photos, etc., and assist during physician examinations
Administer eye drops and medications as directed by physicians
Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records including all patient encounters
Sterilize, disinfect and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment as per clinic policies
Conduct pre- and post-operative care for various ophthalmic procedures using sterilization protocols, ensuring patient comfort, and providing patients with detailed instructions and follow-ups
Help maintain smooth patient flow throughout the clinic to minimize wait times

Skills:
Experience working in a medical office + knowledge of EMR systems (preferred)
Strong interpersonal skills, good communication, and collaborative team player
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
Attention to detail, accountability and accuracy in documentation
Robust work ethic, eagerness to learn new information/clinical skills, adaptability

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
