Enhance Indigenous education by becoming an Itinerant Ojibwe/Cree Language Support Instructor with the Louis Riel School Division. Work to shape cultural and language learning in schools. This role requires expertise in Ojibwe or Cree and a background in working with Indigenous communities or organizations.
A high school diploma or G.E.D. is needed, while related post-secondary education is a plus. You'll support the Indigenous Education team, fostering language and cultural development in classrooms across the district. Key Responsibilities:
Implement Ojibwe/Cree language programming in classrooms
Partner with educators to enrich cultural curriculum
Lead career development for teaching staff
Ensure traditional Indigenous teachings are incorporated
Build relationships with students and Indigenous communities
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent experience
Completion of Respect In School training
Previous engagement with Indigenous students required
Intermediate to bilingual fluency in Ojibwe or Cree
Background check, including use of the Child Abuse Registry
