Nestled between the mountains of the Fraser Valley in the heart of Abbotsford’s agricultural community, Pacific Coast Fruit Products (PCFP) was originally built as a frozen berry plant and has since evolved into a highly productive manufacturer of fruit juice concentrates, Not From Concentrate (NFC) juices, purees, and puree concentrates for the food, beverage, and nutraceutical industries. Through teamwork and innovation, we process millions of pounds of fruit from the Fraser Valley and around the world.

We are looking for an experienced Shipper & Receiver/Forklift Operator who will support the efficient and effective operation of Pacific Coast Fruit Products (PCFP) by coordinating the safe, accurate, and timely movement of raw materials, finished goods, packaging, and other products into, out of, and within PCFP facilities.

This position is responsible for receiving incoming product, preparing and loading outgoing shipments, organizing and staging product for production requirements, maintaining accurate shipping and receiving records, and safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment.

The Shipper/Receiver works closely with Warehouse & Inventory, Production, Quality, Logistics, and other departments to ensure materials and products are available when required and are handled in accordance with PCFP's safety, quality, food safety, traceability, and inventory-control requirements.

Food Safety Management System The activities performed by the Shipper/Receiver have a direct impact on the safety, quality, security, and traceability of PCFP's food products. The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for achieving and maintaining PCFP's food safety standards by following all applicable Food Safety Management System policies, procedures, work instructions, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and product-handling requirements.

Any actual or potential food safety, product quality, contamination, security, or traceability concern must be immediately reported in accordance with established PCFP procedures.

Key Accountabilities

1. Shipping, Receiving & Material Handling

- Safely load and unload trucks, trailers, containers, and other transport vehicles.
- Receive raw materials, finished goods, packaging materials, ingredients, supplies, and other incoming products as required.
- Prepare, stage, and load outgoing products in accordance with shipping documentation and customer requirements.
- Transfer packed raw product received from growers and/or customers into appropriate storage locations.
- Transfer product from storage for production requirements or loading into refrigerated transportation.
- Verify products being received or shipped against applicable documentation, including product identification, quantities, lot information, and destination.
- Ensure products are handled and stored in a manner that prevents damage, contamination, deterioration, or loss.

2. Forklift & Mobile Equipment Operation

- Complete required pre-shift inspections of forklifts and other mobile equipment.
- Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to load, unload, transport, stage, stack, and store product.
- Immediately report equipment defects, damage, or unsafe operating conditions.
- Follow established traffic, pedestrian, loading-dock, trailer-entry, and material-handling procedures.
- Maintain required forklift and mobile-equipment qualifications.

3. Product Organization & Production Support

- Organize and stage raw materials and other products in preparation for production requirements.
- Ensure product is placed in designated storage locations and appropriately identified.
- Rotate inventory in accordance with established inventory-control and food-safety procedures.
- Support Production by ensuring required materials are available and appropriately staged when needed.
- Coordinate product movement to minimize production delays and unnecessary material handling.
- Maintain orderly and efficient freezer, cooler, warehouse, staging, and loading areas.

4. Documentation & Inventory Accuracy

- Record all required information relating to incoming and outgoing shipments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Complete shipping, receiving, inventory, traceability, and other required documents, forms, electronic records, and logs in accordance with applicable procedures and work instructions.
- Verify product quantities, lot numbers, identification, and storage locations as required.




- Report discrepancies between physical inventory, shipping documentation, and system records.
- Assist with inventory counts, reconciliation, product searches, and investigation of inventory discrepancies as required.
- Maintain accurate product traceability throughout receiving, storage, movement, and shipping activities.

5. Food Safety & Quality

- Follow PCFP's Food Safety Management System, GMPs, sanitation requirements, allergen controls, and applicable work instructions.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing loads for signs of contamination, damage, temperature concerns, cleanliness issues, or other conditions that could affect product safety or quality.
- Ensure products are protected from contamination and damage during handling, storage, and transportation.
- Maintain required separation and identification of products that are on hold, rejected, damaged, or otherwise restricted.
- Immediately report food safety, quality, traceability, or product-security concerns.

6. Health & Safety

- Perform all duties in accordance with PCFP health and safety policies, procedures, and safe-work practices.
- Wear required personal protective equipment and maintain work areas in a safe condition.
- Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents, equipment damage, and injuries.
- Follow established procedures for trailer restraint, dock safety, pedestrian interaction, freezer/cooler operations, and mobile-equipment use.
- Participate in safety meetings, training, investigations, and corrective actions as required.

7. Communication & Operational Support

- Communicate effectively with Warehouse & Inventory, Production, Logistics, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments regarding product movement and operational requirements.
- Report issues involving employee health and safety, food safety, product quality, inventory accuracy, equipment, productivity loss, shipping delays, or other matters that may affect PCFP operations.
- Escalate significant operational, inventory, safety, quality, or shipping issues to the Warehouse & Inventory Manager.
- Provide clear and accurate information during shift handovers.
- Assist other Warehouse & Inventory and Operations employees as required to support operational priorities.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or material-handling experience in a manufacturing, food-processing, distribution, or similar environment is preferred.
- Forklift experience and valid forklift certification are required; additional training may be provided where appropriate.
- Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment in warehouse, cooler, freezer, and production environments.
- Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter and retrieve inventory and shipment information.
- Ability to complete shipping, receiving, inventory, and traceability documentation accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, food safety, product quality, accountability, and teamwork.

Physical & Working Conditions The position requires regular work in warehouse, production, cooler, freezer, loading-dock, and outdoor environments. The employee must be able to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing and walking for extended periods, climbing on and off mobile equipment, bending, reaching, and handling materials. The position may involve exposure to cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, vehicle traffic, and seasonal fluctuations in workload. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn as required.

Pay: $23.31 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
