Expressions & Images Custom Framing is looking for a part-time Shop Assistant to join our team.

We’re a busy custom framing shop in Edmonton, and no two days here are exactly the same. We work on everything from jerseys and artwork to shadowboxes, memorabilia, canvases and some pretty random one-of-a-kind projects.

We’re looking for someone hardworking, motivated and easy to get along with. Someone who likes staying busy, can work independently, and isn’t afraid to jump in and help wherever needed.

This is not a sit-at-a-desk kind of job.

You’ll be moving around the shop, organizing materials, making pickups and deliveries, cleaning, putting stock away, helping with odd jobs and keeping things running smoothly.

The position will start at around 10–15 hours per week, with the opportunity for more hours as you learn the shop and take on more responsibility.

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

- Keeping the shop clean and organized
- Putting away moulding, matboard and supplies
- Organizing stock and storage areas
- Picking up materials and supplies
- Delivering finished framing orders
- Packaging and moving finished projects
- Helping with random shop projects and odd jobs
- Jumping in wherever the team needs help

We’re looking for someone who can see that something needs to be done and just do it. You don’t need someone standing over your shoulder all day giving you a list. As you get comfortable,



we’ll start teaching you more of the actual framing side of the business. That will likely start with cutting frame moulding, joining frames and helping with smaller assembly jobs.

You do not need any framing experience.

We can teach you that.

What we can’t really teach is a positive attitude, work ethic and the willingness to learn.

You’ll probably be a good fit if you:

- Like working with your hands
- Enjoy being busy
- Are organized
- Show up on time
- Can work on your own
- Ask questions when you need to
- Don’t mind cleaning or doing the less glamorous jobs
- Like learning new things
- Are comfortable lifting and moving larger pieces
- Have a valid driver’s licence and are comfortable doing occasional pickups and deliveries
- Want to work somewhere creative, casual and a little different

Experience with woodworking, construction, art, tools or other hands-on work is a bonus, but definitely not required. The shop is relaxed and creative, but we work hard and take a lot of pride in what we make.
