The Site Superintendent – Tenant Improvements (TI) specializes in fast-paced, detail-oriented interior renovations, often within operational spaces. You will play a critical role in overseeing the execution of multiple projects.

In your role you will oversee all on-site activities; ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise in managing operational renovations and building strong relationship will contribute to the smooth coordination of subcontractors, materials, and existing tenants, while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Safety is our top priority, and you will be expected to follow all safety guidelines and regulations while on the job.

Your Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders; supporting overall project efficiency and success.

Oversee the planning, implementation, and management of project priorities according to the schedule

Complete a site inspection at the beginning and end of each shift

Supervise tasks being completed by site crews and subcontractors

Delegate responsibilities and tasks to site crews, subcontractors, and other workers according to priorities and plans

Assist with conducting weekly Toolbox Talks, weekly Worksite Inspections, Site Specific Safety Orientations and Safety Reporting

Complete Daily Logs, as required

Inspect completed work to ensure it meets or exceeds industry standards and project specifications

Perform regular Site Inspections to monitor progress and adherence to quality standards

Direct and manage subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project timelines and contract terms





Provide guidance and mentorship to crew members to ensure high performance and quality workmanship

Enforce safety protocols and lead safety meetings for finishing trades, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations

Maintain daily reports, track project progress, and ensure all relevant documentation is accurate and up-to-date

Your Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of 3 years experience as a Site Superintendent with a General Contractor

Journeyperson Certificate is considered an asset

Detailed knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and finishing systems.

Experience managing disruptions, coordinating with existing tenants, and adhering to strict timelines

Regional travel and availability to work overnight shifts is required

Own transportation, able to get to and from site

Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for accurate measuring, cutting, fitting, and finishing tasks

Physical ability to lift materials, stand, kneel, or work overhead for extended periods

Ability to work at various heights, including ladders, scaffolding, or elevated platforms

Ability to push, pull, and position materials into place with accuracy; work in awkward spaces/positions and adverse weather conditions

Capacity to operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for prolonged periods Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, push/pull, bend and crouch frequently

Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail

Own transportation, able to get to and from site

Understands and adheres to all safety policies and procedures

Technical Skills

Drawing interpretation: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate execution of tasks.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC):



Strong focus on maintaining high standards of workmanship and adherence to project specifications.

Problem-solving skills: Ability to quickly address and resolve on-site challenges.

Deficiency repair: Perform deficiency repairs such as framing repairs, minor taping and paint repairs, install locks and miscellaneous hardware, cabinet and flooring touch ups, door adjustment, stairs and handrail installation, flooring repairs.

Project Management

Schedule management: Capability to coordinate and manage daily site activities to align with the overall construction schedule, ensuring deadlines are met.

Resource allocation: Experience in managing crews, subcontractors, and materials.

Project documentation: Experience with maintaining progress reports, tracking budgets, and managing change orders.

Leadership and Communication:

Team leadership: Proven ability to lead and supervise teams, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency and solutions-oriented environment.

Communication skills: Strong communication with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure smooth workflows.

Collaboration: Ability to work closely with project managers, architects, property owners, tenants and building management to ensure project completion within scope and compliance with local building codes.

HSE:

Ability to navigate the unique challenges associated with working in occupied spaces

Thorough understanding of OHS regulations and safety requirements.

Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized and safe job site at all times.

Proactive approach to maintaining a safe work environment.

Understands and adheres to all safety policies and procedures
