We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Assistant to support the educational development of children with special needs. In this vital role, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to create a nurturing and inclusive learning workplace.
In addition light kitchen duties will be assigned to add extra hours to your day.
Duties
Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans tailored to each child's unique needs
Support children with disabilities during classroom activities, ensuring they are engaged and included
Help manage behavior by employing positive reinforcement strategies and maintaining a calm, supportive presence
Prepare learning materials and adapt activities to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
Supervise children during breaks, lunch periods, and outdoor activities to ensure safety at all times
Collaborate with specialists such as speech therapists or occupational therapists to reinforce therapy goals within the classroom setting
Requirements
Prior experience working with children, particularly those with special needs or disabilities, is highly desirable
Knowledge of classroom management techniques and early childhood education principle
Robust communication skills to effectively interact with children, teachers, parents, and team members
Demonstrated patience, empathy, and adaptability when working with diverse learners
Relevant certifications or coursework in special education or early childhood education preferred
