Duties
Safely operate delivery vehicles, including trucks and heavy equipment, to transport freight to designated locations.
Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and secure placement of goods.
Verify delivery orders, check freight for damage or discrepancies, and complete necessary documentation accurately.
Navigate efficiently using GPS or maps to meet delivery schedules while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic automotive repairs to maintain optimal performance and safety standards.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
Requirements
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Proven experience in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, or freight transportation.
Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is preferred but not mandatory with training provided.
Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation.
Basic automotive repair skills for routine maintenance checks and minor repairs.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation.
Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks as needed.
