This full time position focuses on managing securities lending operations and driving automation projects. Wealthsimple is looking for an intern in their Capital Markets team based in Toronto. You will report to a Trader and manage trade desk risk while ensuring seamless daily inventory balance.

Your role includes high-volume execution and developing automation tools using SQL and Google Apps Script, creating impactful solutions that enhance desk profitability and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
Own the entire return process and manage daily settlements
Monitor contract breaks and manage risk continuity




Facilitate cross-functional engagement with trading and engineering teams
Support general desk operations as needed
Build automation tools to streamline trading tasks

Requirements:
Currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of a relevant program
Proficiency in Google Sheets and SQL for automation
Basic understanding of financial markets and securities lending
Robust sense of urgency and prioritization skills
Coachable and ambitious with a desire to learn
