As a member of our surgical team, you will be an integral part of our commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
We are currently seeking an outgoing, organized, and detail-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills for the position of Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (MDRT).
We provide both medical and cosmetic (elective) ophthalmic surgical services and serve a diverse range of patients in our community.
Responsibilities and Duties
Perform the decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of a variety of ophthalmic instruments, equipment, and supplies.
Maintain excellent aseptic technique and follow established infection prevention and control practices.
Perform and document biological, chemical, and other required quality assurance testing.
Ensure instruments and equipment are properly processed, maintained, and available for scheduled procedures.
Maintain accurate and complete MDR records and documentation.
Follow all applicable policies, procedures,
and standards related to medical device reprocessing and patient safety.
Qualifications
Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (MDRT) with certification through CSA or HSPA.
1–2 years of MDR experience preferred.
Previous experience in an ophthalmology or surgical setting is considered an asset.
Solid attention to detail and commitment to quality and patient safety.
Ability to effectively multitask, prioritize, organize, and work under pressure and within time constraints.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Reliable, punctual, and supportive team member.
Ability to work effectively in a quick-paced environment and stand for prolonged periods.
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate will be required to provide documentation of their immunization status.
Must be available to work Saturdays.
Casual daytime position, approximately 2–4 days per month, Monday through Saturday.
Schedules are provided in 1–3 month blocks.
