Vancouver Island trucking company looking for a versatile driver; who is professional, friendly, punctual, and reliable. We are looking for someone with availability for full-time hours. The ideal candidate will need to be flexible as we offer a variety of trucking services.
Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Required :
Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract
Physically fit and able to repeatedly lift, stack, pull, and carry heavy items (up to 90 lbs)
Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluency
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transit
Skilled driving experience
Perform basic automotive maintenance and checks as needed to ensure vehicle reliability
Experience operating heavy equipment, such as front-end loaders, is an asset
Responsibilities Include :
Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationships
Operating straight trucks or trucks with trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over urban, short inter-urban, and rural routes
Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of delivery routes, count sheets, and incident reporting
Performing product delivery verification with accompanying paperwork
Following health and safety, and secure work procedures
