Automotive Design Release Engineer

Location: Windsor, ON

Work Model: Hybrid – 1–2 days onsite/week

Travel: Occasional travel to US required

Compensation: T4: $45/hr | INC: $52/hr

Job Overview

We are seeking a Design Release Engineer with automotive experience in transmission and driveline systems . The engineer will lead design, development, validation, and release activities while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
Lead design and development of transmission, driveline systems, and components .
Collaborate with CAE, NVH, durability, vehicle dynamics, packaging, manufacturing, and suppliers .
Develop and execute DVP&R; , including bench and vehicle testing.
Perform root cause analysis using Fishbone, Is/Is Not, 3L5Y, Red X, and similar tools.
Drive supplier design approvals and ensure engineering requirements are met.




Develop and maintain DFMEA, DVP, SSTS/TTS , and engineering best practices.
Support design improvements and warranty cost reduction initiatives.
Prepare technical reports, design reviews, and project updates.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field .
3+ years of automotive engineering experience focused on transmission and/or driveline systems.
Robust knowledge of PTU, RDM, axles, T-case, differential, gears, bearings, torque converters, and gear reducers .
Robust analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams.
