Job Purpose: To support the timely and accurate financial reporting of the Company's financial results to internal management and corportate head office on a weekly basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of weekly forecasts, monthly financial statements and reporting requirements, and other quarterly and annual finnancial reports.
Review and analyze financial statement trends and variances against budget, forecast, and prior year and provide adequate explanations to substantiate.
Perform addition/disposition of fixed assets and maintain ledger.
Reconcile cash system transactions to bank transactions on a daily basis.
Complete balance sheet account reconciliations monthly: bank, fixed assets, prepaids, accrued liabilities, analyze underlying balances, and investigate discrepancies identified in the period.
Review and approve invoices in the financial accounting system. Coordinate with the Accounts Payable team to resolve any discrepancies.
Prepare journal entries and document with appropriate support.
Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures in place and complying with federal and provincial and local financial legal requirements.
Perform duties with diligence and accuracy, while adhering to timelines.
Perform ad hoc tasks and analysis as requested by management.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of work experience in a general accoutning role.
University or College Accounting or Business degree.
Enrolled or working towards obtaining CPA designation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).
Experience working with Oracle Financial ERP system is an asset.
Ability to handle strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
