The Victorian Retirement Residence is seeking a friendly, dependable Casual Server to provide coverage for staff vacations, illness and other occasional absences.

This position is ideal for someone who wants sporadic, on-call shifts Monday to Sunday (8am-2:30pm and 12:30pm-7:00pm) rather than a regular weekly schedule, but who has excellent availability and can sometimes accept shifts on short notice. Applicants must be able to work the times posted for shifts.

Responsibilities include:
Serving meals and beverages to residents
Setting and clearing dining tables
Assisting with easy food preparation as required
Completing dishes and general kitchen and dining-room cleanup
Maintaining a clean, organized and welcoming dining environment
Providing friendly, respectful and attentive service to our residents
Following food-safety and sanitation procedures
Assisting with other meal-service duties as needed

The ideal candidate:
Has previous serving,



hospitality or food-service experience
Holds a valid FoodSafe certificate, or is willing to obtain one
Is dependable, versatile and comfortable working independently
Has broad availability, including occasional weekends and holidays
Is warm, patient and enjoys working with seniors
Is comfortable helping with dishes, cleanup and light food preparation as part of the role
Understands that hours are not guaranteed and may vary considerably

This is a casual, on-call position with no set weekly hours. It would be an excellent fit for a retired or semi-retired person, someone with another versatile position, or anyone looking for occasional extra shifts in a friendly, small-community environment.

Pay: $18.25-$19.50 per hour
