Days Inn By Wyndham Nanaimo is seeking a reliable and capable Maintenance Person who will be responsible for the general upkeep of both guest rooms and public areas of the hotel.

Responsibility & Duties:

· Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly, and effective manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery and/or equipment.

· Maintain the pools and hot tubs by ensuring a safe chemical balance through frequent cleaning & testing.

· Ability to diagnosis and repair minor plumbing, electrical and appliance issues.

· Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, electric, painting, HVAC and other common repairs

· Inspect guestrooms, public space and back of the house for needed and preventive maintenance.

· Conduct scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance.

· Record and report completed repairs and items that require further attention.

· Cross-training to be able to fill in with other departments, as requested by Manager.

· Follow safe work practices.

· Additional duties as assigned by the management.

Qualifications:





· A background in electrical and/or plumbing is essential as is the ability to support the normal hotel maintenance requirements.

· Pool Operators Certificate an asset

· First Aid/ CPR Certification an asset

· Fluency in English; both written & verbal

· Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.

· Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends & holidays.

· Positive and Can-Do Attitude

· Solid communication and team building skills.

· Demonstrated superior customer service philosophy.

Job Types: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
