Duties
Long-haul trucking throughout Canada and The United States; Cross border travel required.
Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight over designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues, including basic automotive repairs when necessary
Manage freight documentation accurately, including delivery logs, manifests, and shipping paperwork
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate deliveries and pickups
Assist with forklift operation for loading/unloading cargo at warehouses or distribution centers
Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of the vehicle fleet in compliance with company policies
Skills
Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and other industrial machinery
Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards in transportation
Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshoot vehicle issues quickly
Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and route planning
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
Physical stamina for long hours on the road, lifting heavy loads when required
