What It’s Like to Be a Northbridge UnderwriterOur Marine Underwriters work closely with our Broker partners to assess, price, and underwrite Marine insurance risks across a diverse and complex portfolio, including cargo, hull, and marine liability exposures. You will support the underwriting of Marine risks, including transit‑based exposures and complex coverage structures, in accordance with established guidelines. Working collaboratively with fellow Underwriters, Corporate Underwriting, and Actuarial Pricing teams, you will help ensure we are writing the right risks at the right price. You will carefully analyze exposure, data quality, pricing adequacy, and coverage structure, including Marine policy wordings and clauses, while maintaining high underwriting and service standards.What We’re Looking For- Commercial insurance underwriting fundamentals- Risk assessment, analysis,



and decision‑making- Building and maintaining strong Broker relationships- Learning and applying technical underwriting concepts- Communicating clearly and collaborating across teamsQualifications- 1–5 years of underwriting experience, ideally within commercial lines, with relevance to Marine or specialty risks- Exposure to Marine insurance (underwriting, brokerage, MGA, or claims) is strongly preferred, or a genuine interest in specialising in Marine- A foundational understanding of how commercial insurance works- A solid customer service mindset- A team‑first, eager‑to‑learn attitude- Completed, or currently pursuing, CIP (FCIP, CRM, or other designations are an asset)- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered a strong assetCompensation & BenefitsBase salary range: $67,000 - $100,000.
