Lead application security initiatives at Beacon as the first dedicated engineer focusing on program development and strategy. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with engineering teams and shape the future of product security. As Beacon's inaugural Application Security Engineer, you will drive product security across diverse engineering environments.

This includes leading secure design, threat modeling, and conducting comprehensive security reviews of recent and existing codebases. Your expertise will inform standards for vulnerabilities, SAST, DAST, and secure code practices, key to maintaining our security posture. Key Responsibilities:
Guide secure design and architecture reviews for recent initiatives
Manage acquisition assessments for newly acquired codebases




Conduct thorough secure code reviews with a focus on vulnerabilities
Oversee vulnerability management processes and reporting
Develop training materials for secure coding practices

Requirements:
Robust expertise in web and API security design
Experience with cloud security in containerized environments
Proven history of driving security improvements across teams
Familiarity with automated security tooling integration
Ability to generate effective remediation measures through engineering
