Responsibilities
Safely operate heavy-duty trucks to transport goods between locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are met
Load and unload cargo with care, utilizing heavy lifting techniques when necessary to handle freight securely
Plan productive routes to optimize delivery times and fuel usage, adjusting as needed for traffic or weather conditions
Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and records of all trips and cargo movements
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit
Assist with warehouse duties such as loading or unloading when required, demonstrating physical stamina and teamwork
Experience
Proven experience driving heavy trucks or commercial vehicles, with a valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various work environments
Familiarity with transportation regulations, safety protocols, and route planning tools
Solid physical endurance to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and dispatchers
