Position Summary
We currently have an opening available for an Accounts Payables Specialist at Surrey, BC location. The position provides financial, clerical and administrative support to ensure productive, timely and accurate processing for accounts payable. This position is an important support role in the accounting department and in meeting head office requirements. The company will provide training and ongoing support to ensure success in your role.
Position Requirements
· Audit, Process/Coding of carrier and contractor invoices
· Reconcile carrier and contractor statements
· Prepare weekly cheque runs
· Assist with month-end closing
· Assist with creating/refining processes
Experience and Qualifications
· High School diploma and completion of an accounting diploma or equivalent experience
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting field
· Data entry and strong keyboarding skills
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
· Positive, self-motivated, self-starter and analytical attitude
· Multi-tasking and time-management skills while working with daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
· Interprets standard operating procedures and practices and identifies workflow inefficiencies for improvement; problem solving skills
· Previous experience in transportation industry is an asset
