Endurance Taekwondo is looking for a reliable, patient After School Academy Assistant to run our upstairs after school space in Port Moody. Kids will finish class and head to the After-School area around 4:30 PM and are picked up between then and 5:45 PM at the latest, with your shift starting at 4:00 PM to get everything ready. This is not a daycare program, meaning straightforward supervision is not the goal of this role, but instead to actively aid an enrichment program.
What you'll do:
Set up the upstairs space before kids arrive: booklets, chairs etc.
Welcome kids around 4:30 PM and get them settled in
Keep noise levels down as to not disturb running classes that are happening downstairs
Keep the group secure and on task
Help kids work through their activity packets
Answer phone calls from parents confirming pickup, and get the right child ready to head downstairs
What we're looking for:
Experience with children (childcare, camp counselor, tutoring, coaching, or similar)
A clean criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector check.
First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain one
Patient, calm, and dependable, someone kids and parents can trust
