Black Heart Café was born out of the desire to provide our small community with a new and fresh alternative that focuses on high quality coffee and beverage options with fresh, health conscious food in a casual and welcoming setting. We are looking for an individual who would like to follow us in this journey. You must love being part of a local community and be a highly skilled barista who is motivated working on a small and energetic team. We are offering a full time barista position for those who want to cultivate their careers in coffee and who also understand the importance of quality and customer service. Experience in specialty coffee is essential for this role - you must understand how to dial in a grinder, steam milk and pour latte art. You must have a passion and interest in all things coffee! If you are a lover of coffee and a foodie with a health conscience, we are looking for you. We want to welcome someone who is knowledgeable in the artistry of coffee but has ability to put the customer experience at the front of every guest interaction.

Responsibilities and Duties

Common duties would include:
dialling in the espresso machine, adjusting relevant equipment
Steaming milk properly for a variety of drinks




brewing coffee in different methods, drip, pour over, french press, cold brew
Preparing tea and Tea Lattes
Prep work for beverages and food related products
Inventory checks and restocking
Cleaning and maintaining equipment
Cleaning tables and counters
Washing dishes
Sweeping and mopping
Garbage and recycling maintenance
Clean washrooms

Qualifications and Skills
minimum of 1yr barista experience
know how to use a manual espresso machine.
know how to steam milk for different type of beverages.
physically able to bend, reach, pull, lift, push according to cleaning needs.
Available to work from a range of Monday - Sunday.
Available to work from 6am - 6pm.
Experience in food industry will be an asset.
