AEGIS Homecare is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Spanish-speaking Caregiver to provide one-on-one support to a client living with dementia in NW Calgary.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys providing companionship and creating a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment for seniors.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and meaningful social interaction
- Communicate with the client in Spanish
- Provide dementia-friendly support, reassurance, and redirection as needed
- Assist with light meal preparation
- Assist with showering once per week
- Support the client's daily routine and general well-being
- Encourage independence while ensuring safety
- Observe and report any changes or concerns regarding the client's condition
- Complete required visit documentation after each shift
Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate effectively in Spanish
- Previous experience supporting seniors or individuals living with dementia is strongly preferred
- Experience with personal care,
including shower assistance
- Compassionate, patient, respectful, and dependable
- Strong communication skills
- Able to consistently commit to the scheduled shifts
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification is an asset
- Health Care Aide (HCA) certification is an asset
Schedule Monday to Thursday: 10:00 AM–1:00 PM
