Job Summary
As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing care and support for animals in a kennel setting. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining the cleanliness of the kennels, ensuring the well-being of the animals, and assisting with various tasks to support the smooth operation of the facility.
Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and animal living areas
Provide food and water to animals according to schedules
Monitor and report any changes in animal behavior or health to the appropriate staff
Assist with bathing, grooming, and exercising animals
Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
Interact with animals to provide socialization and enrichment
Assist with basic office tasks such as answering phones and scheduling appointments
Qualifications
Previous experience working with animals is preferred
Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions closely
Excellent customer service skills when interacting with pet owners
Ability to work effectively in a team workplace
Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff members
