Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Swim Instructor to join our aquatic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching swimming skills to individuals of all ages and skill levels in a safe, supportive, and engaging workplace. This role offers an opportunity to promote water safety, build confidence, and foster a love for swimming among participants. Candidates should have a robust background in swimming and enjoy instructing others to improve their skills.
Duties
Conduct swimming lessons tailored to the skill levels of participants, from beginners to advanced swimmers
Demonstrate proper swimming techniques and safety procedures
Monitor participants during lessons to ensure safety and provide immediate assistance if needed
Develop lesson plans that promote skill development, water safety awareness, and confidence building
Maintain a clean and organized pool area before and after lessons
Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding progress and areas for improvement
Enforce pool rules and safety guidelines at all times
Assist in setting up equipment and preparing the pool for lessons
Experience
Prior experience teaching swimming or related water safety instruction is preferred.
Strong swimming skills with the ability to demonstrate techniques confidently
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage learners of diverse ages and backgrounds
Passion for teaching, water safety, and helping others achieve their goals in the water
Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor award and National Lifeguard awards are required. Candidates will need to show proof of current awards.
