Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Cook to join our team at The Grand Canal Retirement Residence. This role offers an exciting chance to contribute to the well-being of our residents by assisting with meal service, food preparation, and maintaining high standards of food safety. The ideal candidate will bring culinary enthusiasm, excellent food handling skills, and a caring attitude to support our residents’ dining experience.

Duties
Assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and menus.
Support kitchen staff with food preparation tasks, including chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients.
Ensure proper food handling and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Serve meals to residents with professionalism and courtesy,



ensuring a positive dining experience.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the dining area and kitchen workspace.
Help with menu planning by providing feedback on resident preferences and dietary needs.
Support catering events or special meal occasions as needed.

Experience
Previous cook experience a must.
Experience working in fine dining, restaurants, or the food industry is advantageous.
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques is essential.
Culinary experience including food preparation, cooking, knife skills, and meal assembly is desirable.
Familiarity with menu planning, catering, and serving in a hospitality setting will set candidates apart.
