From Truck Drivers to Accounts Receivable, our dynamic and supportive team carries out Aquatrans’ success.Nature of PositionFull-time permanent position. Must be available to work in the Aquatrans office located in Delta, B.C., 5 days per week. Remote work is not available.Schedule: Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm – 40 hours per weekWhat You’ll DoAs our Logistics Planning Specialist, you will have the opportunity to use your excellent organizational and problem solving skills to plan shipments and routes, assign drivers, and adjust plans as needed.
You’ll be responsible for coordinating with the Fleet Manager on repairs rendered outside the place of business. Your responsibilities will also consist of forecasting future work, and obeying laws and regulations including hours of service. This role also involves planning and overseeing logistics for many different business units on a rotating basis.You willPlan and assign trucks and trailers to direct the pickup and delivery activities of driversPlan which shipments should be combined to increase efficiencyPlan and oversee logistics for many different business units on a rotating basisDevelop efficient and creative routing patterns in response to changes in businessProvide accurate directions for pickup and delivery servicesCoordinate with the Fleet Manager to arrange necessary repairs to restore service and schedules to minimize the risk of service failureForecast daily and weekly driver and asset requirements to ensure we have enough capacityProvide instructions to the Communications team for specialized routes and tasksProvide feedback regarding planned shipments to the Communications team to ensure proper execution of plansMaintain and update driver preferences and requirementsAdhere to corporate and departmental policies and proceduresProvide holiday coverage and support on a rotating schedulePerforms other duties as requiredWhat You Need to Get the Job DoneHigh school diploma or GED requiredUniversity program in logistics or equivalent business-related experience is considered an assetTransportation industry knowledge and experience an asset (i.E. shipping/receiving, scheduling, freight negotiations and regulatory requirements)Planning or scheduling experience an asset (i.E. production, logistics, etc.)Technological skills and knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Office, planning systems, experience using different software, etc.Able to work well under pressureFlexible, able to deal with changeStrong attention to detailVery organized with excellent time management and problem-solving skillsStrong work ethic and positive team attitudeWhat You’ll Love About UsGreat Company Culture.
