Help foster effective research settings as an Auxiliary Animal Care Technician at UBCO.

Your role will primarily involve the maintenance and care of various laboratory animals in a team-oriented setting. This position demands a commitment to animal welfare and facility maintenance at UBCO's research-focused Biosciences Facility. You will perform health monitoring, manage daily care tasks, and assist with necessary procedures, all within a supportive team of faculty and staff while following prescribed protocols. Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily husbandry, food, and water for animals
Perform health assessments and maintain records
Keep facilities clean and organized for optimal operation
Assist with handling and anesthesia during procedures
Conduct inventory management for lab supplies Requirements:
Completed Secondary School education required
Up to 6 months relevant experience or training
Candidate certification as a Lab Animal Technician is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Capable of lifting up to 20 kg routinely Help uphold UBCO's research integrity through exact animal care and operational excellence.
