Job Summary Director, Land Development & Construction Financing – build and develop a portfolio of large land development and construction loans and cash management services that exhibit a high degree of complexity. Manage lending needs that are generally greater than $20,000,000, with a focus on profitable growth and retention of the assigned portfolio. Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of large, highly complex commercial Members. Actively monitor and manage the profitability of commercial relationships, building long‑term mutually beneficial partnerships. Provide structure and in‑depth analysis on complex credits. Demonstrate solid working knowledge and exceptional analytical skills in balance sheets, cash flow mechanics, and business plans. Structure flexible credit solutions customized to meet Member needs while ensuring appropriate return to the Credit Union. Negotiate and document complex credit and cash management arrangements with Members and prospects. Identify and initiate contact with Members, partners,



community leaders, and prospects through a coordinated marketing plan. Maintain an ongoing sales pipeline and effectively follow up on referrals and prospects. Use industry knowledge to proactively assess and anticipate Member needs and propose products/solutions. Ensure Members remain aware of product benefits and new offerings. Continuously update knowledge on new products that may benefit Members. Share knowledge and experience with team members to support their development goals. Qualifications University degree in Business, Finance, or related discipline—or equivalent combination of education and experience. 8+ years of progressive commercial lending experience in sales/service and portfolio management in a commercial banking environment. Experience with land development & construction financing is an asset. Developed sales management skills to set goals, monitor plans, and coach others. Strong knowledge of the commercial banking marketplace and key industry positioning. Advanced knowledge of lending policies, complex procedures, and documentation requirements. Superior origination, business development, relationship building, and portfolio management skills. Excellent negotiation and deep product knowledge.



Expert knowledge of segment strategies, structure, and lending/deposit products. Advanced credit investigation and underwriting skills. Superior financial analysis skills. Proven ability to supervise loan submissions with highly complex structures. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Ability to interact at all organizational levels and within the community. Comfort learning and adopting new digital tools and AI‑enabled technology to enhance productivity and Member experience. Compensation is based on skills, experience, and internal equity; higher placement is possible for stronger alignment to role requirements.
