PositionSummary:
Organize and supervise custodial staffcleaning areas, perform routine cleaning and other related tasks in order tomaintain a protected, clean and healthy setting for students, staff andvisitors.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Must have current, Board approved, MHMIScertificate
Experience in custodial work is preferred
R eadand interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenanceinstructions, procedure manuals, product directions and mixing ratios
Workcooperatively and effectively with other staff and supervisors. Understandand carry out oral and written instructions.
Use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency
Perform medium to heavy physical labor
Meet deadlines with time constraints
Supervisory duties such as:
direct and supervise custodial staffto maintain a high level of cleanliness in the facility
organize and implement workschedules
set priorities and re-arrange staffschedules to accommodate emergencies
report writing and planning projectwork
training custodial staff to ensureunderstanding of WHMIS requirements and necessity of work safety
inputting staff absences andreplacement employees using the Smartfind absence system
performing inspections andmaintaining digital logs
requisitioning of materials,supplies, and equipment
Compensation:
Salary in accordance with theprovisions in the current CUPE collective agreement Collective Agreement - $29.02 perhour
