We are seeking an experienced

RT/UT Welder

to join our Nuclear Manufacturing team. This role is responsible for performing precision welding on pressure-retaining and nuclear-grade components in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), ASME Code requirements, quality standards, and customer specifications.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of producing high-quality welds that consistently meet Radiographic Testing (RT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) acceptance criteria while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and traceability.

Key Responsibilities

Perform welding using SMAW, GTAW (TIG), FCAW, and GMAW processes.

Weld carbon steel, low-alloy steel, stainless steel, and other materials used in heavy fabrication and pressure-boundary applications.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld maps, specifications, and welding procedures.

Prepare, fit-up, tack, and weld components in accordance with approved procedures and quality standards.

Produce welds that meet RT and UT acceptance requirements.

Follow ASME Section IX welding procedures and qualification requirements.

Ensure material identification and traceability throughout fabrication.

Perform self-inspections and support quality control inspections.

Assist with NDE activities including RT, UT, VT, PT, and MT inspections.

Complete all production and quality documentation accurately and thoroughly.

Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Technical diploma, welding trade certificate, or equivalent experience.

Minimum 5 years of welding experience in one or more of the following industries:

Nuclear Manufacturing

Pressure Vessel Fabrication

Heavy Industrial Fabrication

Shipbuilding

Power Generation





Demonstrated success producing welds that pass RT and UT inspections.

Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and engineering documentation.

Solid understanding of weld symbols, tolerances, and quality requirements.

Experience working to documented WPSs, quality procedures, and fabrication standards.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to workmanship quality.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

ASME Section IX Welder Qualification.

Current or previous CWB Welder Qualification.

Experience welding pressure-retaining components.

Experience working within nuclear quality programs.

GTAW (TIG) root pass experience.

Stainless steel and low-alloy steel welding experience.

Experience supporting customer inspections and witness points.

Overhead crane and rigging experience.
