About the Role: We're seeking a Data Governance Consultant to join our team supporting governance framework design, stewardship models, and policy implementation for a municipal government client. Formal data governance practice (DAMA-DMBOK) matured significantly after 2009 — we're looking for consultants with deep, long-standing experience in the discipline.

Responsibilities:
Design and implement data governance frameworks and operating models
Support governance mandates, decision rights, and workflows
Lead adoption and change management for governance initiatives
Design and roll out stewardship models
Develop training and enablement materials for data owners and stewards

Required Qualifications:




10+ years experience in data governance consulting or implementation
Experience developing governance policies, procedures, and standards
Change management experience in data/IT contexts

Strongly Preferred:
15–17+ years experience, spanning the formalization of the discipline
DGSP, CDMP, or equivalent governance designations
Municipal or public sector governance program experience

Employment Type: Contract / Consulting roster (project-based engagement) Pay: $80.00-$120.00 per hour
